Yesterday while I was just scrolling through my twitter timeline taking in all of the Solange, Beyonce and Jay-Z buzz, I came across another story that made me raise my eyebrows. For those of you that followed my old blog from 2012-2013, you'll be more familiar with underground Ghetto Goth DJ/Entrepreneur, Venus X. (After seeing her in ASAP Rocky's Peso video, I predicted that she would be one of the newest popular people in the year of 2013...obviously I was a year off lol) Anyway, Venus took to Twitter to speak her mind about sites like EOnline and NecoleBitchie giving pop sensation Rihanna, praise for bringing the culture Ghetto Goth to the spotlight and to announce that she will no longer DJ!!
For years, Venus X has been throwing underground house parties/raves in NYC, DJing mixing rock/hip hop/indie tunes, crazy hair, dark smudged make up and out of the ordinary clothing. Rihanna, who decided to change up her look for the previous photo shoots earlier this year and for the iHeartRadio Awards has not commented on what was said by Venus, but if she does decide to address it, I'm sure it will be veryyyyy interesting; especially if shes going with this Ghetto Goth look for her next album!
