The Cycle

"Everybody is a product of their environment. So before I could get mad at my daddy I had to stop and think 'what the hell did his mama do to him? And what the hell did her mama do to her?' and so on and so forth. Somebody's got to be smart enough to break the cycle because I don't need my kids talking about me like that someday."

- Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes (on her father)

X.

I decided to share one of my favorite songs from DMX with you guys (thanks to my mothers love for everything Mr. DMX, she has all of his albums.... seriously lol.) This song is featured on my uncles favorite X albums (and mine also) Flesh of my Flesh, Blood of my Blood. Check out the classic song below!

Just Cozz

Welcome J. Cole's new edition to his Dreamville roster, 20 year old South Central rapper that goes by the name Cozz. This is Cole's second artist on Dreamville and I'm just as excited about his upcoming project as I was for Bas' EP. Take a listen below to Cozz's song and you'll understand why Cole jumped at the opportunity to sign this youngin!

Yesterday was the 7th Birthday of Rihanna's album Good Girl Gone Bad! GGGB was the album that literally transformed Rih Rih's image to the non caring, sassy, smart mouthed bad girl that she is today. I remember when my mom went to Walmart to buy this album and we listened to it over and over again (along with Kanye's Graduation album) in her big room in our old house. Good Girl Gone Bad brings back many memories and I cant wait to see what Miss Robyn does next with R8! Listen to 2 of my favorite tracks from GGGB below!

From the joint blog I had with Briana, to my first solo blog, and now this one. You all really mean a lot to me, and I promise to try and keep this blog running after my first semester in college!

Check out some flashback photos of me and my friends throughout the years below!
