This is my Throwback for the month of November, Excuse Me Miss by the one and only Hov featuring the spaceman genius himself (and newly married) Pharrell! I remember I used to loveeeeee this song when I was like 8 I think. And the video oh gosh, I thought it was the most intriguing thing ever lol. Especially the glass elevator scene with Jay in a nice suit and the woman in that crazy dress and fur! It's a great smooth tune for the autumn and winter months. I just downloaded it *hides face in shame*
Happy Hallows
Hi guys! Happy November to you! I hope your Halloween was filled with gore, wonderful candy, great horror movies and toasty warm blankets. Mine was absolutely wonderfullllll! I spent the night chatting and laughing it up over fine drinks and delicious cuisine with Briana and two other gal pals at a very dignified Halloween party. It was a great time, the crowd was diverse, the music was great, and our waitress was beyond nice and very talkative lol. Here are some snapshots from our night.
Yours truly before the "turn up"
The bottom half of the mess I called a "costume" I was disappointed in myself ):
Our Turn Up destination.
Shekinah, she was a wonderful Fairy.
Ab-Soul was in da trap wit us. (aka, Briana)
Ab-Soul and the little Monster Jaylann
My food (I couldn't eat all of it, I got so full!)

Briana transformed from Ab-Soul to 2 Platez last night.
Horrible selfie in the back of the party bus (aka Shekinah's truck)
Ab-Soul didn't run from paparazzi either.
My BASED DAWG LEXIE was sooo tired when her mommy got back home, she must have been turnt too. (:
Childish Pound
Here is a little freestyle from one of my favorite awkward, talented Libras Childish Gambino. Would it be wrong to say that I'd much rather listen to this version and get rid of the original? Also, check out his new single 3005 from his upcoming album Because The Internet dropping in December here.
Talia and the Quizzes
By now, all of my readers should know that I'm all about looking for new things to do, say, watch, create, etc. During October, I have come across a new (well not completely new) obsession. The television show Sex and the City! I watched bits and pieces of the show when I was younger and of course I wasn't able to fully understand the entire concept of the episodes and the basis of the show itself. Now that I am basically of age and I have experienced and gone through some of life's challenges and things of that sort, I really understand a lot of what is going on.
From Carrie's view on her friends' lives shown via her column in the newspaper, Samantha's insane encounters with the opposite sex (and one time, even the same sex), Charlotte's obsession with thinking every attractive guy is the one even with his flaws and weird habits, and Miranda's fiery personality, fierce independence and no non sense attitude toward BS and non existent view on kids. I have watched many episodes and I could identify everyone of my close gal pals character wise, the only person missing was me. ):
So being the inquisitive weirdo I am, I took to Google and embarked on a quiz taking journey.
I was somewhat surprised at my top results (seen below) I scored very high on numerous quizzes for Carrie and Miranda, even Samantha on about two of them lol.
I suggest you take a quiz or two also, even if you aren't a fan of the show!

Since '95
Guys, today I turned the big 1-8. I am old. I am an adult. (only legally according to my mother lol) I can finally vote. So much has changed since I started this blogging journey with Briana years ago. There is so much more I wanted to have accomplished by the time I was 18 and here I am... yeah, I won't get into that. I have some snapshots of my day below (as you know I'm not a fan of taking pictures, I have no clue how I'm going to remember high school). Thanks to all that wished me a happy birthday. (And a SPECIAL thanks to those that actually remembered on their own.)
(First 18 year old Ghetto Pose selfie)
(Lex Guess)
(Blondie)
(Kylie Boy)
(My dearest Capricorn)
(Bailey didn't want to take a picture with me she's like "OMG mom please not again!" idk why I'm smiling so hard)
(my arms look super huge, ugh and I didn't wear my chucks with the dress at school.... this time.)
(I wouldn't be me if I didn't do something like this right?)
(my mom sent a screen shot of her Facebook Post, notice her attempt at Hash-tags lol technology)
(Yes, my mom and little sister put an ad in the newspaper. I thought it was so cute and thoughtful because I want to be a Journalist. Idk where the random baby picture came from though, I look like a mean kid lol)
Lovers.
One of my favorite artists, Solange, finally debuted the video for her single Lovers In The Parking Lot that was featured on her TRUE ep earlier in 2012. I love the song but I'm even more in love with the video! Its so beautiful and playful and just makes my inner child come out. To me, it was very reminiscent of a young Diana Ross in the seventies, so beautiful and carefree. Not to mention the cool dance moves, special appearances by Mannie Fresh and Bun B, and of course, the wonderful fashion featured. This is definitely one of, if not my favorite videos of Solange. Check out some fashion and the video!
Hold On...
One of, if not the most creative and best sounding covers to a Drake song I have ever heard. Singer Mateo, took the word cover and completely turned it upside down with his use of a kitchen for the Hold On We're Going Home cover he did with the help of some friends. There have been other artists to attempt to do one too, (Rita Ora, Artic Monkeys) however, I absolutely love this version and I think it's almost better than the original. But don't let me be the judge, you decide! Watch Mateo's cover below (:
The Strivers Row
Just in time for Autumn I became re acquainted with my writing side due to the fact that I'm taking my Journalism Class this year (and it has my creative train chugging daily). I was being a little emotional so I decided to go onto YouTube and just look at some of my old favorite spoken word acts. I was completely unaware that I was going to come across something as beautiful as The Strivers Row.
It is a writing, poetry, spoken word group consisting of three guys and three girls. Some of my favorites, Alysia Harris (famous for her infamous "That Girl" act), Zora Howard and my two new favorites, Joshua Bennett and Miles Hodges (who just happens to be engaged to me). I plan on attending a Strivers show in early November on The University of South Carolina's campus as a birthday present to myself (even though my birthday is in October lol) If I do go, you will get lots of pictures (hopefully Miles isn't shy and finally lets people know we're to be married lol) and of course, great captions and stories to go with them.
Below you can check out some of their work (which are my personal favorites) But don't just limit yourself to what's on my blog, check out their other work and give some other artists a chance; you never know what you'll find.
Kandid Kanye
The most beautiful, insightful interview I've seen of Kanye to date. His guard was down, and... I just couldn't stop smiling (even when he spoke of Kim) Watch and enjoy.
Meanwhile In SC...
Due to the gloomy, rain weather we've been having in good ole' Orangeburg, South Carolina my playlist has changed a little. I've found myself listening to Coldplay, Nirvana and Yuna albums. (Not what you expected from this gal huh? Thank my mother for my eclectic taste...she loves Nirvana haha) I find the tunes to be relaxing and stress free... the perfect music for me right now. Hopefully this post will encourage you to take a listen for yourself if you haven't already.

The Time Has Come
Yes my dearest Lia Loves, it is in fact about that time... The time where you trade late nights for early mornings and school breakfast. Free weekends shall be traded for studying and projects with friends... oh joyyyyy right? Well for me, I'm excited (my 13 year old, 8th grade sister isn't as ecstatic..she has a while to go) I am head over heels because well... I'M A SENIOR THIS YEAR! Yes... yes I am indeed. I know, it seems just yesterday I was sharing the original blog with Briana and wishing I was older so I could get out of school. Now... it's actually happening! I've made another effort to become more involved this year (I know a little too late...but whatever) I have few classes, and I'm no longer forced to do those horrid IB courses (Thanks be to Shiva) so I will definitely be in a better mood and have time to blog more.
The soundtrack for my final year in high school you ask? Oh, its none other than the wonderful Mr. West...
The College Dropout
Late Registration
Graduation.
Those are the albums that shall be played on a daily basis until my mother gets tired of rapping every song word for word along with me. (she's the reason I love him so much) Below are some tracks that remind me of the years behind me and the year to come and 2 possible senior quotes for my yearbook lol. enjoy.
